IMGUR DATA ENTRY CASE STUDY
Founded in April 2009, Imgur was created in response to the poor functionality of other contemporary image-hosting platforms. Designed to be a gift to the online community of Reddit, it took off almost instantly and has steadily grown its user base to over 150 million users. Today, Imgur is ranked as the 13th most visited site in the United States and 45th in the world according to Alexa.
At launch, Imgur relied on donations to help with web-hosting costs. As the platform grew, it introduced display ads to create a sustainable source of revenue. With the increased traffic and overall popularity of the site, various streams of ad-revenue were integrated into the site. After years of a successful partnership in image moderation with Imgur, the vice president of finance and operations, Jonathan Greenglass, reached out to Pure Moderation for assistance in aggregating their disparate revenue data streams.
How We Helped
Pure Moderation’s data entry team accesses all of the different data streams to consolidate the information into an easily digestible document. Agents retrieve information from different platforms such as MoPub, MobFox, DFP, Facebook, Amazon, InMobi, iTunes affiliate, Sharethrough, AOL Marketplaces, Casale/Index Exchange, OpenX, TripleLift, DistrictM, Interana, Nexage New, etc. and places them into a spreadsheet. This is a progressive data chart that gives our clients a holistic view of their different revenue streams as soon as they enter the office.
In particular, Imgur saw significant improvement in:
time saved by searching for their data.
identifying optimum methods of gathering revenue.
reporting data for their organization.
dedicating time and resources to improving their sales.
our ability to quickly adapt to different working requests.
Each morning, when members of the Imgur team enter the office, they start their day with a clear picture of their ad revenue. They are able to quickly evaluate this information and move forward with their sales targets to improve the profitability of their site.
Initially, Pure Moderation worked on image moderation for Imgur. The quality of our service proved to be a bellwether for Imgur to expand their partnership with Pure Moderation into other operations. Our speed at delivering results, top-notch customer service, and consistent performance grew our partnership to incorporate data revenue entry. By taking on this important responsibility for Imgur, their team is able to dedicate more resources to grow their business.
